Health & Safety

IRCM Venue

As a healthcare facility regulated by the Quebec government and because of the adjacent presence of patients and of healthcare professionals, the Montreal Clinical Research Institute (IRCM) requires mask wearing for everyone participating in the 2022 INS Annual Meeting. Masks will be available for attendees who do not bring their own.

A mask must be worn when:

  • In the auditorium
  • Going to the restroom
  • Walking around the building

Masking is not required when:

  • Speaking on a panel or giving a presentation
  • Eating or drinking

COVID-19 Testing

We recommend that all in-person attendees:

  • Monitor for symptoms related to COVID-19, and
  • Conduct an at-home rapid test prior to traveling and before the first day of the meeting.

Canadian Travel

The Canadian government announced that it will end its COVID-19 border and travel measures. Starting October 1, all travelers, regardless of citizenship, will no longer have to:

  • Submit public health information through the ArriveCAN app or website
  • Provide proof of vaccination;
  • Undergo pre- or on-arrival testing;
  • Carry out COVID-19-related quarantine or isolation;
  • Monitor and report if they develop signs or symptoms of COVID-19 upon arriving to Canada.

Airport

International flights arrive and depart from the Montréal-Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport. The airport code is YUL. It is located several kilometers west of downtown Montreal.

Ground transportation options to and from the airport and downtown Montreal include:

Hotels

The INS has an open block contract with Hotel 10 Montreal. Attendees must make room reservations by phone and advise the hotel they are with the "International Neuroethics Society."

Note: these preferential rates are only applicable for nights reserved on November 1, 2, and 3. Rates will be higher for nights reserved before or after these dates. The preferential rates are also only available if you book before October 1, 2022, or until there is no availability.   

Several other hotels are available in downtown Montreal. The INS has not negotiated room rates with any other hotels. We have put together a partial list of nearby hotels for your convenience.

Contingencies

Due to the global pandemic or other unforeseen circumstances, there remains a chance that the meeting will need to be conducted completely online. We sincerely hope to avoid any cancellation of in-person activities. However, if adjustments are required, the INS commits to conducting an engaging online conference for participants located around the world. Anyone who registered at the in-person rate will be refunded to the amount required for virtual participation.
