Health Requirements

Canadian Travel

All in-person attendees must meet Canada's travel rules regarding COVID-19 vaccination status and comply with all requirements for entering the country. Their traveller tutorial is a helpful tool to determine if you meet requirements and will be granted access.

Be aware that rules and regulations may be changing. It was recently reported that Canada will be relaxing some vaccination and paperwork requirements for visitors as soon as September 30. Please continue to reference the Canadian travel website for the latest information.

Currently, to qualify as a fully vaccinated traveller to Canada, you must have:

  • Received at least 2 doses of a COVID-19 vaccine;
  • Received your second dose at least 14 calendar days before you enter Canada;
  • No signs or symptoms of COVID-19; and
  • An ArriveCAN receipt with letter A, I, or V beside your name.

International flights arrive and depart from the Montréal-Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport. The airport code is YUL. It is located west of downtown Montreal.

Visit the airport website for airlines that fly to Montreal and ground transportation to and from the airport and your accommodations. Their guide page also has tips for navigating customs, security, and checking baggage.

Hotels

The INS has an open block contract with Hotel 10 Montreal. Attendees must make room reservations by phone and advise the hotel they are with the "International Neuroethics Society."

Note: these preferential rates are only applicable for nights reserved on November 1, 2, and 3. Rates will be higher for nights reserved before or after these dates. The preferential rates are also only available if you book before October 1, 2022, or until there is no availability.

Contingencies

Due to the global pandemic or other unforeseen circumstances, there remains a chance that the meeting will need to be conducted completely online. We sincerely hope to avoid any cancellation of in-person activities. However, if adjustments are required, the INS commits to conducting an engaging online conference for participants located around the world. Anyone who registered at the in-person rate will be refunded to the amount required for virtual participation.
