Journals

AJOB Neuroscience

The American Journal of Bioethics (AJOB) Neuroscience provides a comprehensive resource for scholars, practitioners, and others interested in ethics and the brain sciences. We interpret the scope of the field broadly, and seek wide-ranging contributions exploring the clinical, ethical, social and legal dimensions of neuroscience. AJOB Neuroscience is the official journal of the INS. Members are eligible to receive a discounted price to the online and print subscription.

Neuroethics

Neuroethics is a forum for interdisciplinary studies in neuroethics and related issues in the sciences of the mind. The focus is on ethical issues posed by new technologies developed via neuroscience, such as psycho-pharmaceuticals and other ways of intervening in the mind; the practice of neuroscience itself, including problems posed by incidental findings in imaging work on research subjects; regulation of neuroscientific technologies, and ways in which the sciences of the mind illuminate traditional moral and philosophical problems, such as the nature of free will and moral responsibility, self-deception, weakness of the will and the nature of personhood.

Biosocieties

BioSocieties is committed to the scholarly exploration of the crucial social, ethical and policy implications of developments in the life sciences and biomedicine. It provides a crucial forum where the most rigorous social research and critical analysis of these issues can intersect with the work of leading scientists, social researchers, clinicians, regulators and other stakeholders. BioSocieties defines the key intellectual issues at the science-society interface, and offers pathways to the resolution of the critical local, national and global socio-political challenges that arise from scientific and biomedical advances.

Websites / Blogs

Neuroethics Today with head profile and scale logo
Neuroethics Today

Founded by INS member Katherine Bassil, Neuroethics Today is an educative platform including a podcast and blog featuring neuroethics experts and issues, and is creating a special series on neuroethics and social justice as a capstone to the 2021 INS Annual Meeting.

The Neuroethics Blog

The blog has been discontinued, but past articles remain available for reference. Topics in neuroethics fall at the intersection of neuroscience, ethics, and society, exploring the questions that arise as innovations in neuroscience challenge notions about free will, autonomy, the nature of disease, the mind, and what it means to be human. The Neuroethics Blog serves as an interactive discussion and critique of these issues.

BrainFacts.org

The Law, Economics and Ethics section of BrainFacts.org shares stories of scientific discovery and the knowledge related to neuroethics.

Neuroscience

Hosted by the Guardian.

Practical Ethics

Practical Ethics is a blog where you can find daily ethical analysis of news events from researchers in four centres based at the Philosophy Faculty, University of Oxford. We focus on current events with practical ethical relevance, including developments in science and technology, environmental policy, public health, and information ethics.
