BNA2019 Festival of Neuroscience

April 14-17; Dublin, Ireland – The INS will be taking part in this year's Festival of Neuroscience by organizing, in collaboration with the British Association of Psychopharmacology, two sessions on treating mental illness in teenagers. A symposium on April 14 will examine "Mental Illness in Children and Adolescents: Neuroscience, Ethics and Practice in Psychopharmacology," and the public event on April 15 is titled "Young Minds Matter: How to Support Young People’s Mental Health." The INS is a partner society for this event and members can save up to £125 on registration fees – select 'International Neuroethics Society' from the partner organization list and type 'please confirm' when asked for a member number.

Italian Neuroethics Society Annual Meeting

The Future of Neuroethics
May 15-17, 2019; Milan, Italy – The INS is working with the Italian Society for Neuroethics to develop this year's program. Featured is a session on the new frontiers of the concept of brain death and keynote speakers: Alfred Mele, Florida State University; Barbara Sahakian, University of Cambridge; Francesco Guala, University of Milan; Adrian Owen, Western University Canada; Raffaella Rumiati, SISSA, Trieste; Arleen L. Salles, Uppsala University; and Julian Savulescu, University of Oxford. Abstracts submissions of 300 words or less are due by February 15.

Neurotechnology for High-Consequence Communication and Decision-Making

June 5; Toronto, Canada – The INS and Cognixion are hosting a special 1-day conference for professionals in industry, academia and law to discuss the social and ethical implications of neurotechnology relating to health, crime, and civil and disability rights. Talks, with follow-up responses and open discussions, will be given by Nir Lipsman, Sunnybrook Research Institute; Jennifer Chandler, University of Ottawa; Michael Bach, IRIS; and Tom Ladd, Cognixion.

10th IBRO World Congress of Neuroscience

September 21-25, 2019; Daegu, South Korea – This meeting will include presentations from previous INS Presidents Judy Illes, 'On the ethics of neuroethics in international brain research,' and Steven Hyman, 'A new molecular map of psychiatric disease mechanisms.' Abstracts are due April 14.
